A Dutch coffeeshop is a special kind of business. That special nature lies mainly in the fact that a coffeeshop sells a product (cannabis) that is illegal yet allowed to be sold in a coffeeshop under strict rules. Because the product is illegal, it is not possible for the coffeeshop to purchase this product from a legal grower. It is therefore dependent on the illegal circuit and must pay its suppliers in cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, the banking institutions in the Netherlands no longer want to cooperate with this so-called “tolerance policy” of the Dutch government and have announced that will stop supplying cash to the coffeeshops. Because people mainly pay with debit cards, the coffeeshops are now faced with a shortage of cash. Therefore we request you to pay in cash at coffeeshop The Border Amsterdam.
